FAITH

Have you ever wondered what all the hubbub was with Christians? I am hoping that since you visited this post, you are curious enough to read on. As far as I am concerned, it's the highlight of this entire blog.

Becoming a true follower of Christ is easy and hard all at the same time. The easy part is just believing that what the Bible says is true. What does the Bible say in a few words?

It says that you and I are messed up, that we are unable to mix company with a perfect God. However, God loves you and me so much, that he made a remedy for that.  He sent a perfect sacrifice for the messed up part of us. He actually took a part of Himself, His Son Jesus and sent him to be a sacrifice for this world He created. Since He lived His life with the same temptations as you and I have, lived in the same kind of body we have, but was  able to maintain a life without any mess ups, His death made him that perfect sacrifice. It was only through His great love for us that He allowed that to happen to Him. After His death, He was resurrected by the Spirit of God. Interestingly enough, this whole life of His, His death and resurrection was told about thousands of years before.  How is that for proof?

Because of His sacrifice for my life and yours, He asks us to repent of our sins, that means to ask forgiveness and then turn and walk away from them, and then believe that He is who He says He is and commit our lives to Him. This just means we give up our own control and let Him direct our ways.  That can all be done in a simple prayer.

It looks like this..."Dear Jesus, I am sorry I have sinned and followed my own path, please forgive me and become my Savior. With your help, I will continue to follow you the rest of my days. Thank you for loving me."

See? Isn't that easy? Now comes the hard part. Our human self loves to be in control. Our enemy who is evil incarnate (the devil) desires to have you back under his control. Don't be surprised when circumstances become difficult around you, tempting you to throw off your new commitment. However, pray each day for strength and protection and then find a bible to read.  Beginning in the book of John is a great way to learn the basics of the life of Jesus and why it is worth it for you to continue your walk with Him.

Why is this all so important for you and me?  Because heaven and hell are real places.

Email me with any prayer requests you have. I will truly pray for you. Also, let me know if you prayed this prayer and I will be so excited with you.

Blessings on you and your families as you learn more about the One who loves you most and created you for a greater purpose than to live life on our own.

1Cor 1:8   “For the cross is foolishness to those perishing, but to the ones being saved, it is the power of God.”
